(Flannel sells for between $3 and $4 per yard)
Wash and dry fabric and iron pieces on backside to flatten out the edges.
Place flannel pieces back to back with right (printed) sides together. Trim off the frayed edges and ―square‖ up the pieces.
With right sides together, sew the two pieces together leaving an 8-inch opening along one edge.
Clip corners to reduce bulk – make sure not to cut into the stitching.
Use opening to turn the blanket right side out -- make sure the corners are nice and neat.
Stitch opening closed.
Press lightly to set the edges.
Use a zigzag stitch to topstitch along the edges. (You may also use yarn or embroidery floss to blanket stitch the edges by hand).
2 one-yard pieces of flannel fabric. Look for flannel with prints that coordinate or match
